A Personal Welcome
This dinner is about more than a celiac-safe buffet—though no one will complain if it turns out to be the highlight of the night. Bringing gluten-free people together is what these meetups are all about. Whether you've been to a Beyond Celiac meetup many times before or this is your first one––whether you have celiac or a gluten allergy or you're a gluten-free ally––you're helping build something Los Angeles hasn't had before: a real, in-person gluten-free community.
My goal is for everyone to enjoy great food, reconnect with familiar faces, meet someone new or leave with a few memorable conversations. And if Hugo's Tacos or Hugo's West Hollywood is new to you, this is the perfect introduction—few places take gluten free this seriously. Hugo's Tacos is bringing its tacos into the private dining room at Hugo's West Hollywood, its sister restaurant, exclusively for our group. Move down the buffet line and build your plate from a spread of celiac-safe fillings, salsas and toppings, with vegan options available. Dessert is gluten-free and vegan churros!
A Note from Hugo's Tacos
At Hugo's Tacos, we take every gluten-free request seriously. Our team follows established procedures to help prevent cross-contact, including verifying gluten-free ingredients, washing hands and changing gloves before preparation, using clean and sanitized work surfaces and utensils, preparing gluten-free orders separately whenever possible, keeping gluten-free foods away from gluten-containing products throughout preparation and service, and clearly communicating gluten-free orders among team members to ensure they are handled with care from start to finish.
